Whenever my boyfriend and I go out and see spinach and artichoke dip on a menu we have to get it. We’ve had it almost every way a person can have, but one day I had the idea to put it somewhere we previously never dared dream to, on a pizza.
I paired up a homemade spinach and artichoke dip with my all-purpose pizza dough. And to quote my partner in spinach and artichoke dip crushing and favorite taste tester, “it’s money.”
- Pizza dough
- 1-1 1/2 cups sour cream
- 8 oz cream cheese
- 1 14 oz can of artichoke hearts, drained and roughly chopped
- 2 cups spinach, roughly chopped
- 3 1/2 cups mozzarella
- 1/2 tsp grated nutmeg
- Zest of 1 lemon
- 1/2 cup parmesan
- 1/2 tsp salt and pepper
Preheat your oven to 450. In a large bowl beat together the sour cream, cream cheese, a cup and a half of the mozzarella, the artichoke hearts, spinach, nutmeg, lemon zest, salt, and pepper until combined. Season to taste adding more sour cream if the mixture is too thick.
Roll out the pizza dough and place on your pan. Schmear as thin and even layer as possible onto the dough. Top with the remaining mozzarella and parmesan. Bake for 15 minutes.
